Short replies, because I'm exhausted, and I blabber about everything else on this meme anyway, so I'll just cross these off quickly -

Day 04 - Your favorite show ever


The Office

(Just posting my favourite fan video, hi.)

The Office, you guys know this. We’ve had a rough relationship these last two years, this show and I, but nothing makes me feel the way the first three seasons of The Office did (does). I still love these characters, and I have a lot of affection for the fandom (and the friends I made from it). I do genuinely have fun watching these people, too, even if it's less than I used to. I'm kind of excited about Season 7? I feel like they've genuinely thought about the plots and given the season an arc, which it lacked in the last couple of seasons, and that may help. (Plus I know who's guest-starring, AND THAT FILLS ME WITH JOY.)

I was just rewatching Drug Testing and Grief Counseling the other day, which may also have something to do with this - I love those episodes to pieces. I love those seasons to pieces, actually. Only my runner-up shows have filled me with as much joy as this one does.

Runners-up - Firefly (actually if I didn't call comedies my favourite genre of television, this may have won) and Parks and Recreation (OUT OF NOWHERE; I'm honestly having massive amounts of crazy!love for it right now; we can talk about it later in the meme).

Day 05 - A show you hate

Two and a Half Men - the writing is bad, the acting is poor, and worst of all, I hate everything it stands for. I've only watched a few episodes, but it's enough to make me furious that a) Jon Cryer beat people like Neil Patrick Harris to get an Emmy, and b) IT IS STILL RUNNING. Why?! A cousin whose taste I have faith in called this an OK show, but all it does is make me angry. CBS is just a bit OK with me because it kept How I Met Your Mother running when it had no real reason to (although it could've cancelled last year, ha!), but I hate this show so much. Note how very pointedly I refused to give this show a centralised, big-lettered heading.

(I used to have trouble thinking of this and The Big Bang Theory as shows from the same creator, but the latest season of TBBT helped me get over that by being pretty terrible.)

I am really so tired - all we do these days are essays, essays, essays; I have papers for both history and Knowledge & Inquiry (on historical epistemology), so doing all these history-based things is almost getting on my last nerve, except not really because I kind of love it? But still.

I was going to go to bed, by the way, but cereal just posted Leslie/Ben fic, and a) Parks fic!!!1! and b) it's cereal!!!1! What am I supposed to do? (I'm going to read it, and then I'll hate myself tomorrow, until I remember I can nap during one of the stupider lectures.)

I got back an answer I wrote evaluating a passage, and at the end my smart-ass teacher had written schizophrenic, which is kind of what I feel like a lot these days, so maybe that's not too bad. This entry is a mess. I should probably go sleep.
