Quick, background things about Weight Loss on rewatch -

  1. When Holly knocks on Michael's office door, she taps that Shave and a Hair Cut thing, and even after Michael tells her "hi, come in" she cannot resist tapping the last two 'duh-duh!' knocks on the door. Soulmates? :D

  2. Andy quoted License to Wed, true story: "I'll marry you in the eye of a hurricane in the middle of a snowstorm on top of a monsoon." Good freaking God. I'm not sure if I should be cracking up at the thought of Andy watching this movie so many times he knows lines like this by-heart, or if I should be genuinely depressed that John Krasinski acted in a movie that had lines like this at all. Maybe I'll just cackle about the fact that the Office writers clearly sat through that flick.

  3. When the poor (stupid) cameraman sighs as he looks at Pam's closed dorm door, it looks like he pans over and pauses at the peephole in the door - maybe he was considering watching through that for a second before he realised that stuff on the peephole from the wrong side looks inverted and goofy. It really doesn't work. ...damn.

  4. In the scene where Kelly collapses on the floor, the cameraman jolts and looks around quickly and lands on Kelly - the surprise and shock in that reaction is fantastic.

  5. Dwight takes Phyllis on a fake sales-trip. OK. The thing is, he knows it's fake but he actually takes the time to haggle briefly with Phyllis about the percentage they're going to split it in. Very thorough, Dwight! (It also sounds like he calls it a "Shru-fire sale".)

  6. Dwight is so good at being apologetic. "I apologise for creating a ruse which forced you to exercise." And then Michael goes "Let's all clap at Phyllis." At.

  7. When Pam steps off the scale at their first weighing-in, there's a pause where everyone looks like they're calculating how much she weighs. I was part of that group; she weighs 126 pounds. I think. Math is hard.

  8. Jim "tssk"s Dwight when he tries to pull his monitor over to see what they're typing. It's kinda hot. The slight increase in Jim-Dwight made my week, by the way, proposal aside - by slight increase I mean that one scene, and "cryogenics, beer me five", but it was awesome, so I don't care.

  9. Dwight tells Jim he's going to write both of them up for not working. Pam isn't working there, hi.

  10. What rhymes with "seagull"? Dull? Sull-y? Segal? If Michael is writing lyrics that don't rhyme, good on him. Apparently that's the mark of a true poet - someone who doesn't care if lines rhyme any more.

  11. Compared to last season, Michael Scott is scarily mature. It's brilliant. I'm already mourning the day Hollis Flax leaves.

  12. When Michael carries the Girl in the Computer away to the Supply Closet, Jim waves quickly and a few seconds later, Pam waves back. :P The delay is what cracks me up.

  13. Can we get Angela wearing more green, please?

  14. Apparently Jim telling Michael "maybe put up some shelves" (when he tells Michael he's going off to see Pam) is a reference to Three's Company (three people have told me this over the last week). Guess what it's code for, bwahh.

  15. Darryl tells everyone their weight and says, "On the bright side, you guys gained 0 pounds," happily snacking away on a chocolate bar. Way to be supportive, man.

  16. Is weight gain in the Scranton branch because of Kelly, who eats everything she can because she thinks there is a tapeworm in her stomach?

  17. Toby is watching Spanish Entourage, and I think the line we hear is "Hug it out, bitch." Could be, right?

I really like the episode. I'm not saying Season 5 will be great, but I am saying I am sad we have to wait an extra week to see if S5 is really going up a little.
