that embraces all ideas...and just shoots...out of its eyes all kinds of beauty..."

It is ridiculous how much I adore Community and Parks and Recreation right now. I spent most of the former laughing a bit like a crazy person, and most of the latter going "awww". Maybe the reason I'm unimpressed or only barely satisfied with anything else I watch (other than Castle, wow, when did that happen!?) is how wonderful these two shows have been. I had full intention of writing everything I loved from these two shows, but now I realise I may not be capable of getting that into words. So instead (I guess) a few things about all four shows behind the cut -

Parks & Recreation
  1. April smiled! Several times! WOW. I kind of love her a lot. And I also don't want Andy/April to happen, but they're adorable as friends.

  2. Ann and Leslie as BFFs are even more adorable than that, alksjdlas. When Leslie went "awww" in the background, I did the same. I LOVE THEM.

  3. Leslie with the Cop (I still call him Louis C.K. in my head, damn it) are sweet as heck. I love how simple they are.

  4. Leslie in general is awesome. She is so one of my favourite characters ever right now - she's warm and smart and so good, not just at what she does but good. That moment when everyone smiled at her sitting where she belongs, right at the end, made me grin so much I split my (dry) lip. (TMI?)

  5. I love when everyone appreciates Leslie. She's kickass. I know this is a repeat of #4, whatever.
Community
  1. Everything in the fight-prep scene was brilliant. I watched it three times, and even my sister (who doesn't care much for the show) cracked up at everything. I loved Troy's "fiiiiiIIIIIiiighhh...t" so much. And before that, Pierce's training technique. And Troy's Forrest Whitaker face!!

  2. Troy is amazing.

  3. Britta took a while to grow on me, but I love her just as much as the other characters at this point. Her snide "fighting is gay" remarks were great (and well-placed!).

  4. The speed with which Jeff's cold exterior is melting is incredible, and I am really loving it.

  5. The fight sequence was awesome.
The Office
  1. Mindy Kaling wrote an episode with sweet moments! These sweet moments included Jim! That's a Christmas miracle right there.

  2. Jim giving Kelly the present made me really happy, just saying.

  3. Angela suddenly clapping at Jesus Christ's entrance was glorious. I didn't expect that at all, so it made it hilarious to me.

  4. Andy and Erin are the sweetest thing ever, oh my goodness. Her joy at the drummers, standing in the snow? My heart!

  5. Pam setting Oscar and Warehouse Guy up made. my. life. That is the cutest I've found Pam in the longest time, and I loved every bit of it.

  6. Jim telling Michael that it's not appropriate to yell out "I need this, I need this" while tugging Ryan onto his lap made me snort hard, and it hurt my throat a bit.
30 Rock
  1. I think this show's had two Christmas episodes that were sweeter to me than The Office's ones, which is strange. I liked TO more this week, but I did think that 30 Rock has some really unexpected heart when the time/season calls for it.

  2. I do not like how they're uglifying (that's right, that's a word!) Liz/Tina Fey lately, because she is so pretty. I hate her shorter hair, and I hate what she's been wearing. I guess they're doing it on purpose. STOP!

  3. Jack and Liz's friendship makes me really consistently happy. I love these two.

  4. Tracy having less screen-time made everything he said extra funny. His scene with Kenneth talking about Religion was fantastic.

  5. The new guy (Not-Jack! What's his real name? Danny?) is growing on me. I hope he continues to get more time on the show. Him trying to adjust to the crazy of the show and Jenna is a lot of fun to watch.

  6. Crazy!Pete is amazing.

Spent time out with the sister and [livejournal.com profile] imprinted_soul today! We went to check out a "book-fest", but ended up buying one book and ten kinds of stationary each instead. :P Then we had Starbucks coffee and muffins/bagels. It was a good day!

TO was adorable, and it's been less than cheery lately, so this was a delight. I can't believe Kelly doesn't already have that poster, but then again, she'd probably want one for every room of the house. Angela was great, and OMG, matchmaker!Pam. :D And Oscar being cute and awkward. They so need to get together. This show needs more gay romance. Aside from Andy, I mean. Who is outstanding. I love the way Erin was freaked out at first and then charmed when the 12 drummers drumming showed up. :D (And...let's face it. Michael does need Ryan. In a special way. Maybe there's our romance. I have to find that .gif of Michael just staring at Ryan through the blinds on his office window. HEH.)

So much Leslie love! I don't think I ever loved her more especially when she was back when she belonged at the end. I never realized just how competent she was at her job. I loved everyone appreciating her!

Of COURSE Mindy wrote that episode! Cause I loved it and I usually love her stuff the most. Jim giving Kelly an Edward poster!!! I died with happiness. Those are the moments that make me happy those books exist. So true about Angela, great use of her in this one. Oh I agree with everyone you mentioned basically.

I love the new guy. Mostly because he's really really hot and gay in RL. I'm easy that way!

Well I like the show MORE which is good. I just don't find Tom or Andy funny at all and the humor sometimes falls a little flat for me in general. But I think they're doing a much better job bringing heart and good plotlines to the show that make you care about all the characters. I like more of the esemble, family/Office vibe they're showing this season. Plus loving Leslie a lot more so I just couldn't give it up (and I did try). Funny even in little bits is good.

Did you know that Donald Glover, who plays Troy on Community, was a writer for 30 Rock? And that when he started on 30 Rock he had JUST graduated from college, so on his first day he still had his emergency Resident-Assistant beeper on? Random trivia I learned from Comedy Central. You're welcome.

I love NBC like a lot.

I loved all of those moments you mentioned from The Office. I also really enjoyed Phyllis' elation at getting to be Santa Claus.

I loved that Tracy said something to the extent of 'if you continue, you will go to the intellectual deep end and then we will both drown' XD.
