I am sick again! And just generally feeling sorry for myself. I couldn't concentrate on important things this morning, so I rewatched a little bit of Spaced and His Girl Friday. I have also probably killed five thousand trees with my tissue usage today, and I'm sorry, planet!

The Office, 222 - Dunder Mifflinfinity


The only four things I liked about this episode.

Dunder Mifflin Infinity, oh boy. That and Night Out are the only two episodes I absolutely can’t stand sitting through - both were messy both in terms of character and storyline, and I didn’t really laugh once (other than “I drove my car into a fucking lake”, but that’s mostly because Steve Carell getting aggravated and blurred out swearing are always going to be funny to me). Both episodes were also what made me think that maybe I should be paying more attention to 30 Rock (NO came out around Sandwich Day, which is maybe my favourite 30R episode ever).

I’m more annoyed with 30R than I am with The Office right now, though, but that’s a completely different story.

The lake scene is awful. I'm almost surprised I let the show get away with it, even - what a low point.

Oh man, I must've totally repressed the whole car-into-a-lake thing from this episdode because when I saw the tag saying Dunder Mifflin Infinity I was like "but why? Ryan comes back! With a beard! Kelly's pregnant!" aaaand then it all came screaming back to me. :(

ahhah, right? I think this is about the time Ryan and/or Kelly moments started being my favourite things about an episode.

It's so sad that driving into a lake is the thing I have to spend most of my time thinking about as it is all my dad can talk about when we have a GPS on in the car. Which recently, has been a lot for me.

I don't really remember much about that episode, outside of "Computers are about trying to kill you in a lake" and related lines. Heh. For some reason I think I just don't like it when there are actual, realistic business problems--I really don't like the whole Sabre plotline at all, even though I love Kathy Bates and Idris Elba. Just get back to the comedy! I have to deal with the economy sucking IRL; I don't want to see actual consequences on TV!

I don't mind the business problems, but I think I may prefer it when they leave it within the office - I like it when Michael has to fire someone, or Stanley is giving him a hard time, or something. I generally hate anything that takes them out of the office post-S3, though.

I had to remind myself what this episode was about besides driving cars into lakes (I think I had it mixed up in my brain with "Launch Party", which is actually pretty funny because of Dwight competing against the computer). The only episode of The Office that I genuinely hate is "Scott's Tots". I couldn't stand that episode. It crossed the line from awkward to viciously mean-spirited and depressing.

God, do you know, I don't think I even watched Scott's Tots, because everyone I know seemed to be so put off by it. Phew!
